It is the mission of The Manawatu Branch of the R.N.Z.S.P.C.A to investigate all complaints of alleged cruelty to animals; enforce the Animal Welfare Act 1999 relating to the treatment of animals; mitigate suffering and take prosecutions where necessary; provide sanctuary to sick, injured or neglected animals; educate the public about animal welfare matters; promote responsible pet ownership and re-home suitable animals where possible.
