LOST/FOUND AN ANIMAL - WHAT SHOULD I DO?

LOST

FOUND

* Ask around your neighbourhood. Ask them to check their sheds to make sure the animal has not been accidentally shut inside.

* Make up a flyer to put round the area.

* List your pet missing with the SPCA (and your local council if it is a dog).

* Advertise in the lost section of the newspaper and on the website www.petsonthenet.co.nz and well as checking the found section.

* E-mail a photo to your local SPCA.

* Ask around your neighbourhood. Not just your immediate neighbours.

* List the animal with the SPCA (and your local council if it is a dog. Animal Control will pick up the dog if it is contained).

* Make up a flyer to put round the area.

* DO NOT start feeding cats. This will encourage it to stay rather than go home.

* Advertise in the found section of the newspaper and on the website www.petsonthenet.co.nz and well as checking the lost section.

* E-mail a photo to your local SPCA.

* If you bring the animal to the SPCA there is no guarantee that we can take it.

If you e-mail us a JPEG image to info@spcapalmerstonnorth.org.nz with your contact details and details about the animal we can advertise on our website.
